THE COMMITTEE

Rimau is an NGO established by a group of citizens coming together for the Malayan tiger.

LARA ARIFFIN

President

In my generation we have lost the Leatherback Turtle and the Sumatran Rhinoceros – we cannot afford to lose the Malayan tiger too

DAVID HASHIM

Vice - President

Tigers are featured dominantly all over Malaysia – from our National Crest to logos for commercial companies – what will these symbols mean if tigers go extinct in Malaysia?

HARUN RAHMAN

Committee / Programme Lead

Filming a tiger in the wild has been one of my greatest experiences – we need to make sure that they remain there for always.

RENEE AZIZ

Secretary

The Malayan Tiger or Harimau Malaya is an important symbol of our nation and a species unique to this land. We must do everything we can to prevent this beautiful creature from becoming extinct.

ANIS MAJIDA

Assistant Secretary

The Malayan tiger is the epitome of our jungle. To lose the species is not only a loss of identity but also a loss to the whole ecosystem.

SHARMAN ARUMUGAM

Treasurer

Tigers stir up wild emotions yet portray inner beauty – protect them we must!

SUSANNE HASHIM

Committee

What the Malayan tiger needs now is protection from poachers – with your donations we will be able to put boots on the ground to keep this majestic animal safe.

PATRICK RUSSELL

Committee

It will be desperately sad for all Malaysians and the world if the Malayan tiger goes extinct – and on our watch. Unless drastic action is taken now it looks like that is going to happen. Rimau is taking direct, on the ground action working with the local communities to try and prevent it.

CHACKO  VADAKETH

Committee

We must protect these miracles of nature and their habitat, so generations to come may marvel at their magnificence. Saving our jungles also means saving our clean water and air and preventing floods or droughts.

KAMAL SOLHAIMI

Committee

Natural resource management and Orang Asli customary rights intersect with the effective protection of tigers in our rainforest. We need to see ourselves as part of the natural world rather than separate from it. What we do to nature today will have consequences which will return to us.
