One of the biggest threats to the Malayan tiger is poaching and one of the best ways to curb poaching is by protecting the landscape. RIMAU believes that involving local communities living within or close by to the home of the tiger is essential to ensure long term conservation success.
RIMAU is concentrating its efforts in the state of Perak in Malaysia and our goal is to achieve a minimum population of 80 tigers with 20 breeding females in the state by 2030.
RIMAU believes that we should attain the minimum of 10 rangers per 100 square kilometres.
